Abstract

Background & Statement of the problem: The advent of digital transformation has introduced various tools under the umbrella of business intelligence, with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems being among the most significant. These systems are anticipated to play a crucial role in integrating sustainability-related information and data into informed decision-making processes within organizations.

Objectives: This research aims to explore key concepts related to business intelligence and ERP systems, with a specific focus on the critical role ERP systems play in helping modern organizations achieve their sustainability goals.

Methods: A descriptive approach was employed, involving a comprehensive review of relevant literature and scholarly sources concerning the study’s variables. This included a survey of numerous research papers, both physical and digital, to construct a theoretical framework. The framework illustrates the use of business intelligence and artificial intelligence software in enhancing organizational sustainability efforts.

Results: The study finds that ERP systems significantly contribute to the advancement of business organizations toward a carefully planned operational environment, particularly in areas related to social responsibility, as well as the quality and safety of both internal and external organizational environments.

Conclusions (Recommendations and contributions): The study recommends that organizations and businesses assume responsibility for their environmental and social impacts through ongoing performance analysis and a commitment to continuous improvement, ensuring long-term sustainable success. This process is facilitated by advancements in software technologies and artificial intelligence, which have simplified the monitoring of indicators, data collection, and analysis.
