Background & Statement of the problem: Green management has emerged as a response to environmental concerns, with the primary objectives of enhancing energy efficiency, reducing costs and waste, and fostering the use of sustainable resources. Achieving these objectives often necessitates modifications in work strategies, policies, and procedures to align organizational practices with evolving environmental standards.
Objectives: This study examines the impact of green human resource management (HRM) on organizational excellence within the Greater Amman Municipality. Additionally, it seeks to elucidate contemporary administrative concepts crucial for organizational development.
Methods: Employing a descriptive-analytical approach, this study utilized a questionnaire to assess the variables of interest. Data were collected and analyzed using descriptive statistical techniques, including arithmetic mean, standard deviation, and t-tests.
Results: The findings indicate that green human resource management holds significant relative importance, with green recruitment being the most critical component and energy conservation ranked last, although still important. Organizational excellence was also rated highly, with cognitive excellence being the foremost category and service excellence the least, yet still significant. A statistically significant correlation was identified between the independent variable (green HRM) and the dependent variable (organizational excellence).
Conclusions (Recommendations and contributions): In light of the study’s results, it is recommended that the Greater Amman Municipality enhance its employment specifications to better align with job requirements and address environmental pollution issues. This will help attract environmentally conscious candidates, both from within and outside the organization.
