Abstract

Background & Statement of the problem: Many organizations in business environments strive to integrate sustainable development principles through the enhancement of human resources. Effectively utilizing human capital is crucial to ensuring organizational efficiency and success. Consequently, it has become essential to embrace innovative and advanced concepts, such as soft leadership, which has garnered significant attention recently. This leadership approach is valued for its ability to enhance organizational effectiveness amid continuous changes and competition.

Objectives: The study aimed to illustrate the nature of the relationship between the adoption of soft leadership skills to improve employee performance and achieve sustainable development in the business environment.

Methods:  A descriptive approach was employed, and a study model was developed to explore the nature of the relationship between soft leadership and organizational outcomes.

Results

Soft leadership has emerged as a successful and modern leadership style that fosters human resource development by creating a stimulating work environment. This approach improves employee performance, boosts their confidence and loyalty to the organization, encourages self-development, and optimizes the use of their capabilities and energies to achieve success. Additionally, soft leadership enhances an organization's competitiveness in the labor market. The study found a direct and strong relationship between soft leadership (as an independent variable) and employee performance and human resource development (as dependent variables).

Conclusions (Recommendations and contributions): The study recommends adopting soft leadership to enhance organizational performance. Furthermore, it advocates for the implementation of specialized training programs to increase employees' awareness and proficiency in this leadership style.
