Background and Problem Statement: The role of universities has evolved over time, adapting to the changing needs of both the market and students. Historically centered on teaching and scientific research, universities have increasingly focused on contributing to community development through sustainable activities. This shift requires sufficient support and guidance to ensure that innovative ideas are effectively nurtured and realized.
Objectives: The purpose of this study is to examine the role of universities in fostering an environment that encourages and facilitates the generation of innovative ideas. This involves paying close attention to the educational process, aligning it with competencies, and emphasizing the various forms of university support available for entrepreneurship.
Methods: The study employs an analytical descriptive approach, utilizing both desk and digital research methods. This methodology allows for a theoretical description of the phenomenon under investigation by reviewing prominent research and studies on the role of universities in sustainable leadership and the challenges posed by globalization and emerging technologies.
Results: The study revealed that sustainability and environmental issues should be integrated into university curricula. Furthermore, attention should be directed towards extracurricular activities that support environmental initiatives, and a culture of sustainability should be cultivated through deliberate and strategic actions.
Conclusions (Recommendations and Contributions): The study recommends that universities adopt "green" practices to promote sustainable entrepreneurship, emphasizing the importance of integrating sustainability into the core mission of higher education institutions.
