Abstract

Background &Statement of the Problem: Improving and advancing the quality of school principals performance stands as a crucial objective within educational circles. The effective role of a principal as an educational leader in
fostering the professional growth of teachers is recognized as a pivotal factor for the success of the overall educational learning process. Motivated by this perspective, the researcher undertook this study to delve into the subject.

Objective: The objective of this study is to assess the performance level of school principals in their role as educational leaders, specifically focusing on their impact on the professional development of teachers in Jordan. Additionally, the research aims to investigate potential statistically significant differences based on variables such as gender, educational qualification, and years of experience.

Methods: The researcher employed the descriptive survey method and designed a questionnaire comprising 23 items across seven distinct areas to gauge the performance of school principals as educational leaders. This survey instrument, distributed to a randomly selected sample of 1,150 teachers in the Eastern Desert region of Jordan, served as the primary means of data collection.

Results: The findings of the study revealed that, according to the perspective of Jordanian teachers, the performance level of school principals as educational leaders was deemed moderate. Furthermore, the research indicated no discernible differences in this regard based on factors such as gender, academic qualification, and years of experience when considering the entire survey tool.

Conclusions (Recommendations and Contribution): Based on these results, the study recommends the significance of enhancing the qualifications of educational leaders in the field. This involves providing training in educational leadership methods and fostering the development of their creative skills in administrative leadership.
