Abstract

Objectives: This study examines the effectiveness of graphic organizers in improving reading comprehension among students with learning difficulties.
Methodology: The quasi-experimental approach was used. Graphic organizers were applied to the experimental group, and the same content was taught to the control group using the traditional method. Validated measures including a reading comprehension test and a reading comprehension list were administered to collect data and to score the test results.
Findings: The findings show a significant difference between the teaching methods in developing reading comprehension skills in the post-test in favor of the experimental group, who were taught using graphic organizers.
Implications: The findings highlight the effectiveness of graphic organizers in improving reading comprehension among students with learning difficulties.
Conclusions: The researcher recommends using graphic organizers to teach reading comprehension to students with learning difficulties in Jordan.
